About Ratangad and Harishchandragad
First Summit: Ratangad – Jewel Fort (Height – 4250ft. Approx)
At the base of the fort lies a 1000 year old temple of Lord Shiva – the Amruteshwar Temple at Ratanwadi. It is an absolute paragon of high class architecture of our ancestors. Ratangad still has the remains of fortress with bastions and stone walls. Water cisterns are usually filled with water throughout the year and trekkers use them as a water resource.
Eastern side of the fort has some fortification left; one can also see Rani Mahal here. From the southern side one can see the Katrabai and Ajoba fort very closely. This side also has some fortification left, but most of it is now in ruins. Climbing up on the northern side, one can see the natural orifice (hole in rockn, elodchael ly called ) in the rock face, mostly made by wind. Strong winds can be experienced at this orifice. Descend to the western end of the fort leads closest to the Khutta Pinnacle via Trimbak Darwaja.
Katrabai Pass – Height: 4300ft approx
Trek begins from the base village of Ratangad. This trek covers the range of
Katrabai Mountain pass. It lies between Ratangad & Harischandragad fort. This is one of the most important pass in Trans Sahyadri Trek which offers a 360 degree view of the surrounding ranges
Second Summit: Harishchandragad Height – 4500ft. Approx
The fort is very popular among trekkers and nature lovers as it is one of the best forts to Trek. It is quite ancient, and is considered to be from the medieval period. Going rightward of Harishchandragad temple, there is a big SHIVA Linga which is completely surrounded by water. Its height from the base is five feet, and the water is waist-deep. It is quite difficult to reach the SHIVA Linga because the water is ice-cold.

Itinerary:
Day 1 – Saturday
01:30 am Meet-up, freshen up, move towards the base village in taxi
03:30 am Reach Base village, and take some rest
04:30 am Wake up call, freshen up, gear up for the trek
05:30 am Breakfast/tea to start our day
06:30 am Introduction round, brief on rules and regulations to be followed by everyone on the event.
09:30 am Reach Ratangad. Refresh, relax and enjoy the view.
11:00 am Start descend, via katrabai move towards Kumshet village and Lunch on the way
07:00 pm Reach Kumshet Village. Dinner, Stories, sharing experiences, fun filled chit-chats and lots more. Take rest for the day relaxing under the sky; watching stars.
Day 2 – Sunday
05:00 am Wake up, get fresh and have breakfast
06:00 am Start trekking towards Pachnai village in a cool pleasant morning to beat the heat.
08:00 am Reach Pachnai village and start Harishchandragad trek.
10:30 am Reach Harishcandragad and Explore Konkankada
11:30 am Lunch at Harishchandragad.
01:00 pm Start Descend to Pachnai Village.
03:00 pm Reach base village
03:30 pm Move towards Kasara in a private transport.
07:30 pm Reach Kasara railway station and catch cst train.
10:00 pm Reach Mumbai and bid adieu with a promise to meet soon.

- Medications if required for individual
- Avoid wearing precious ornaments on an event, if possible
- And a haversack or backpack to put all the above things to be carried, so hands are free to help each other while trekking. Sling bags / jholas / trolley bags etc not allowed on the event. Please pack accordingly.
