Tringalwadi Day Trek

About Tringalwadi:

Tringalwadi fort (987 meter) is where one treks up to for view of the Kalsubai mountain range. Fort can be accessed through a narrow pathway, down to the Tringalwadi Lake. At foothills of fort is a cave known as “Pandav leni”, with Garbha gruha and a large Sabha mandapa. The entrance door is well decorated and a statue of Lord Buddha is inside of vihara.

The fort was dated back to 10th Century with reference to the Jain caves at the base. The period of Maratha rule was not known exactly but the Mughals took it by treachery in 1688.

At the top small temple of Lord Shiva, along ruins of old buildings, rock cut water cisterns. The huge statue of Lord Hanuman guarding the secret door carved in single rock amuses you.

Atop offers beautiful view of Tringalwadi Dam, also Igatpuri to the south, Kalsubai to the east, Trimbak, Harihar & Basgad can be seen.

• Carved idol of Hanuman
• Water cistern near the temple

Day 1:

Take 05:07 am CSMT-KASARA Slow Local.

05:07 am – CSMT

05:15 am- Byculla

05:25 am – Dadar

05:35 am – Kurla

05:41 am – Ghatkopar

05:57 am – Mulund

06:02 am – Thane

06:25 am – Dombivli

06:36 am – Kalyan

07:46 am – Kasara

Itinerary:

07:50 am: Assembly at at Kasara Railway Station.

08:15 am: Depart for Tringalwadi

09:15 am: Reach base village and have breakfast

10:00 am: Start The Trek

12:00 am: Reach the top and explore the fort.

01:00 pm: Start descend

02:30 pm: Reach base village and freshen up and have Lunch

03:30 pm: Start return journey

04:30 pm: Reach Kasara station

8:00 pm : Reach Mumbai and bid adieu with a promise to meet soon

Includes

The cost per head includes the following.

• Local travel from Kasara to Kasara
• Breakfast at base village

Cost Excludes

• All kinds of extra meals / soft drinks ordered.
• Insurance, tips, porters, bottled mineral water, aerated drinks etc.
• Any kind of personal expenses.
• Any kind of cost which is not mentioned in the cost includes above.
• All expenses incurred due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances like road blocks, bad weather.

Things to carry

• Some ready to eat food like- plum cakes, fruits, chocolates, biscuits, etc
• 2 Litres of water must
• Good trekking shoes
• Extra pair of clothes, socks optional
• Torch with extra batteries
• Cap, Camera as Optional
• 1 packet of electrol, enerzal, glucon-D
• Medications if required for individual
• Avoid wearing precious ornaments on an event, if possible
• And a haversack or backpack to put all the above things to be carried, so hands are free to help each other while trekking. Sling bags / jholas / trolley bags etc not allowed on the event. Please pack accordingly.

Important Notes

• Basic toilet facility will be available at the base village. Considering it is an outdoor activity, please prepare accordingly.
• We advise participant with any medical issues /history not to opt for this event. Still If he/she does so, it should be at the participant’s risk. The management won’t be responsible for any incident.
• Considering complicated route and respecting everyone’s time, we will not entertain any participant reaching base village by his/her own vehicle. One can come till meeting point by his/her vehicle and park it there and join our transport from there.
• Smoking/drinking/smoke up is strictly prohibited during the event. Anyone found doing so will be immediately expelled from the event.
• We request you to go through the complete itinerary. Since it is a group event, we will not be in position to entertain any request of leaving early from the event. Respecting the fellow trekmates, please adhere to the schedule and take back lovely memories.
